Job Summary

Student Project Coordinator

Our internships and co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. Well help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging fun and supportive work environment.

What You Will Be Working On

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4 or 8 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This position will be based out of Regina SK.

Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate drawings and work specific scope/trades.

  • Review trade quotes verify material quantities hours and rates.

  • Participate in project meetings.

  • Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.

  • Issue warranties.

  • Take and coordinate progress photos.

  • Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.

Field Coordination:

  • Perform quantity takeoffs.

  • Coordinate sub-trade work.

  • Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.

  • Supervise sub-trade work.

  • Set up and maintain record keeping.

  • Layout site lines and grades using total station.

Scheduling:

  • Update project schedules.

  • Create manual schedules and update schedules.

  • Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.

  • Create and maintain graphical scheduling.

  • Monitor manpower productivity.

What We Are Looking For

  • You are currently enrolled in an Electrical Civil Mechanical Structural or Industrial Engineering program or in a Construction Management program and you maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently

  • Ability to forge grow and maintain positive relationships

  • Exemplify the Ideal Team Player Hungry Humble Smart

  • Highly developed interpersonal communication and organizational skills

  • Sense of urgencyand strong commitment to achieving goals

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude

  • Residency or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries

  • If you are selected for a role with client specific requirements you may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing.
