Student Equipment Coordinator
Job Summary
We are seeking a student to join us for a 4 or 8 month co-op position starting in January 2027. This position will be based out of Edmonton Alberta.
Yard Coordination:
- Coordinate the supply of tools
- Track all transfers of tools and small equipment to and from the yard
- Load c cans with various tools
- Help with c can shelving modifications
- Install Westrac GPS/signage on all things
- Work with others repairing small equipment such as heaters and various other tools
- Learn to operate heavy equipment in a yard setting. Loader skid steer forklift zoomboom.
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Pick up parts (parts runs) when needed.
- Gain basic knowledge of basic electrical items such as cable and panels
- Participate in toolbox meetings.
- Conduct inventory logs of equipment and tools
- Take and coordinate westrac catalog photos of various supplies in the yard for site
- Monthly safety inspections
Who We Need on Our Team:
- You are currently enrolled in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mining Engineering Heavy Equipment Technology Construction Management or a related diploma degree or equivalent program.
- You will completeat least one more semester of education following your internshipand possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Basic construction equipment and tool handling knowledge is an asset
- Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
- Ability to forge grow and maintain positive relationships

- Highly developed interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Residency or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
- If you are selected for a role with client specific requirements you may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing.
