Job Title: Student Counsellor
Western Community College is seeking a Student Counsellor to joinits team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidatewill provide academic career and personal counselling support tostudents and coordinate counselling and information services withparents teachers and administrators.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Student Counsellor will perform the following duties:
- Participate in educational conferences and professional development workshops to stay current on counselling practices and resources
- Provide counselling to students on educational career and vocational matters including course selection and career planning.
- Liaise with teachers parents college administrators and community agencies on student needs and progress
- Coordinate counselling and information services delivered to students parents and teaching staff.
- Administer and interpret standardized intelligence aptitude and interest assessments.
- Identify students requiring specialized support and refer them to the appropriate outside services.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelors degree
1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience
Fluency in English

Schedule/ Hours: 30.00 to 40.00 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent Full time
