The primary focus of this role is educational program delivery science communication and public will work with a variety of audiences including children and youth as you actively communicate and promote STEM through dynamic engaging Science North programs. Delivering high-quality STEM experiences in Thunder Bay and throughout Northern Ontario will be your primary responsibility. You will lead engaging science demonstrations workshops and educational programs that connect audiences of all ages with the excitement and relevance of STEM. If you have an interest in STEM and experience delivering educational interpretive recreational museum camp or public programming (through life/work experience) this may be the perfect opportunity for you!This opportunity is based in Thunder Bay and is not suitable for remote Responsibilities Deliver interactive STEM experiences science demonstrations workshops and educational programming to children youth educators and public science shows and hands-on STEM activities at schools festivals fairs and community events across Northern Ontario including Indigenous communitiesOrganize plan coordinate and deliver STEM education events and science engagement programsUse your exceptional interpersonal skills to foster reciprocal relationships with communities in Northern Ontario Be a key member of the STEM Engagement Unit supporting other programming initiativesSupport the development of exhibits and programs working with the education and exhibits teams to ensure programs meet current curriculum standards and exhibits fit travelling parametersMonitor evaluate obtain and act on programming feedbackSupport the writing of scripts signage and content for programs and specialty workshops/showsDeliver and oversee the delivery of programs by othersManage and control area expenditures and complete/submit financial reportingCompile reports maintain programming information staff records and other required informationLiaise coordinate support and collaborate with internal and external clients as requiredProblem solve/anticipate needs/issues identify solutions and respond to client complaints/concernsWhat you bring:Formal education in science technology engineering mathematics education environmental science science communication or a related field or equivalent experience delivering STEM programmingExperience teaching presenting facilitating interpreting demonstrating or communicating STEM concepts to diverse audiences is strongly preferredDemonstrated organizational planning and project management skillsSuperior attention to detail and an aptitude for resourcefulnessExceptional communication skills possessing a high level of verbal and written proficiency in English.
