Job Summary

We are currently working with a leading telecommunications distributor and integrated AV solutions. They are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Senior AV Lead Technician to lead installations and support enterprise AV deployments throughout Ontario.

The Senior AV Lead Technician will be responsible for the installation configuration commissioning troubleshooting and support of audiovisual and video conferencing systems. This role serves as the lead technician on projects ensuring installations are completed safely efficiently and to the highest quality standards.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead AV installation and deployment projects at customer sites.
  • Install configure test and commission video conferencing and AV systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware software network and connectivity issues.
  • Configure and support Microsoft Teams Rooms and platforms from Poly Logitech Jabra and similar manufacturers.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers customers and internal teams throughout project execution.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians and installers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and conduct end-user training when required.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure installations comply with company standards and specifications.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 35 years of experience in AV installation integration or technical support.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial AV systems including displays cameras microphones speakers and control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting AV and video conferencing environments.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and structured cabling.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms is highly preferred.
  • AVIXA CTS Microsoft Teams or related certifications are considered an asset.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to customer sites.
  • Strong communication organizational and customer service skills.


Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing walking bending kneeling crouching and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry AV equipment weighing up to 50 lbs; heavier equipment may require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
  • Manual dexterity required for cable termination equipment installation testing and configuration.
  • Prolonged periods of computer use for programming documentation and troubleshooting.
  • Visual concentration required when reading technical drawings wiring diagrams and equipment specifications.
  • Auditory concentration required when testing and troubleshooting audio and conferencing systems.


Working Environment:

  • Work is performed at customer locations office environments construction sites and occasionally warehouse facilities.
  • Frequent travel to customer sites is required.
  • Exposure to construction and renovation environments where dust noise and varying site conditions may be present.
  • Work may involve accessing ceilings equipment racks raised platforms and confined spaces for installation and maintenance activities.
  • Occasional evening early morning or weekend work may be required to accommodate customer schedules and project timelines.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when dictated by site requirements.
