Role Summary:
The Agent Carrier Specialist supports Challengers freight agents by sourcing developing and
managing high-quality carrier relationships. This role focuses heavily on carrier procurement rate
negotiation capacity planning and service execution. The Agent Carrier Specialist ensures loads
are covered with reliable carriers at competitive rates while maintaining strong communication
and operational accuracy.

In this role you will:
Carrier Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify vet and onboard new carriers aligned with customer needs and lane requirements.
- Build and maintain a strong carrier network through daily outreach relationship development and proactive communication.
- Research market conditions capacity trends and pricing to support competitive quoting and load coverage.
- Negotiate rates with carriers to achieve optimal margins while maintaining service quality.
- Provide accurate market-based pricing to agents to support quoting and customer bids.
- Track and report on rate trends and market shifts that may impact agent margins or carrier availability.
- Secure capacity for agent loads in accordance with service expectations and customer requirements.
- Communicate pickup and delivery information verify carrier availability and confirm all load details.
- Ensure carriers receive complete accurate documentation instructions and updates.
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned carriers building long-term partnerships and ensuring consistent high-quality service.
- Conduct proactive check-ins to maintain reliable coverage service levels and carrier loyalty.
- Assist in resolving carrier issues service failures or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all carriers meet Challengers safety insurance and compliance standards before onboarding.
- Maintain accurate carrier profiles certificates and documents in compliance systems.
- Monitor carrier performance and escalate concerns when needed.
- Support agents by providing carrier options rate guidance and market insights.
- Update internal systems with load details carrier confirmations and operational milestones.
- Assist with problem resolution tracking updates and delivery confirmations as needed.
- Provide coverage for Agent Support and Carrier Set Up when required

Qualifications:
- 4 years prior work experience in freight brokerage operations.
- Strong carrier relationships understanding of carrier markets rate structures and freight operations
- Experience or knowledge of supply chain management logistics and/or the transportation industry
- Excellent negotiation abilities with a proven track record of securing competitive rates.
- Strong communication relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multitask and work in a fast-paced freight environment.
- Comfortable using TMS platforms load boards and transportation technology
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at various levels is required
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work independently on projects
- Detail and deadline oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment to meet tight deadlines
