SOX Senior Consultant

emergiTEL is hiring a SOX Senior Consultant for our client in the Financial Services industry. This is a Contract role.
Compensation: $78 - $93/hour
Location: Toronto Ontario Canada
Job Description
The Opportunity

• Lead the planning execution and reporting of governance risk management and control engagements for Financial Services clients.
• Support organizations in designing and implementing internal audit internal controls (NI 52-109 SOX 404) business process improvement performance assessment and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Assess current compliance risk management and control programs and evaluate them against industry-leading practices.
• Identify key risk management compliance and control mechanisms and develop testing programs.
• Independently perform control testing and document testing procedures and results.
• Prepare reports summarizing findings observations and recommendations.
• Mentor team members and review the quality of work completed by others.
• Support project management activities including timelines budgets quality control and client relationship management.
• Manage multiple client engagements of varying scope and complexity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams composed of diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
• Assist with business development activities including proposals presentations and marketing materials.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in internal controls compliance internal audit or risk management.
• Strong Financial Services industry experience including banking asset management insurance wealth management or fintech.
• Solid understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment including OSFI FINTRAC CIRO and FSRA.
• Professional designation related to risk management internal controls or internal audit is preferred.

Contract Details

• Duration: September 21 2026 to December 31 2026.
• Remote work possible during Eastern Time Zone business hours.
• Potential for contract extension and possible permanent conversion.
