The incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of Controls Engineering policies and procedures liaise directly with other department personnel to ensure project goals are met on schedule while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Youll Be Doing:TechnicalRecognize problems initiate action assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issues prior to shipment of equipment to the customerReview any applicable customer software design standards and ensure compliance on project executionPerform code reviews and ensure that all Software Design deliverables meet the Eclipse high standards of quality reliability and safetyDrive project software development and integration effort through project completionLeadershipGuide direct teach assist and advise department staff on software design practices and standardsGuide organize and coordinate assigned staff to prioritize project deliveryLead the software design project team to ensure project contract deliverables are metWork to specific project milestones provided by project managementPromote positive relations with partners customers vendors and distributorsRecommend and consistently administer policies and procedures to enhance department operations and support continuous improvementEnforce and promote Eclipse policies throughout the entire company including Human Resources personal development safety and environmentalRecommend Eclipse Database improvements on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency throughout the companyLiaise between all departments to ensure on time delivery of Eclipse machinery and equipmentWork with Human Resources and abide by the Employment Standards Act and the Eclipse Employee HandbookPromote environmentally and ergonomically safe conceptual product and/or processes to ensure safety of Eclipse personnel and the customers employeesEnsure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct CodeAdhere to the Eclipse Project Operating PolicyMaintain company confidentialityMaintain a good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse Corporate VisionAdhere to all Health and Safety rules and proceduresComplete other duties and projects as assignedFoster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the businessProject ExecutionAct as the point-of-contact for the PM department for all for assigned projectsUpdate project completion with respect to weekly confirmation of critical milestones labour hours and percent complete on projectEnsure scheduled milestones are met and escalate to Project Management if a milestone is at riskUpdate Open Issues List as requiredAssist in performance reviewsAttend appropriate meetingsAssume full responsibility for software design scope of assigned projectsDelegation of duties of the software design project to team membersEnsure that Company ISO Standards are followedEnsure project tasks are entered correctly and promptly for accurate man hour records for Project Management departmentRespond to CARs issued to the department as requestedTravelExpectation of travel up to 25% of the time could be anticipated however this may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needsWhat Were Looking ForEducationHas successfully completed either a University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Systems or Mechatronics or Robotics Automation TechnologyMust have intermediate level experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens and be proficient with MS OfficeExperience7 years of experience in the custom automation industryWork requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projectsFacilitate and actively participate in group/project meetingsWhat We Offer: Reimbursement for tuition and professional dues 3 weeks of vacation and 3 paid personal days (to start) RRSP matching program Free snack programWhy Join Us:Here at Eclipse Automation creation and innovation are at our core and our culture reflects that.
