I. Job Summary

A HCS Shunt Driver is a job responsibility assigned to an Operations Team Member that holds a Canadian AZ License. The shunters main responsibility is moving waste and supplies between terminals/warehouses in organizing and processing material for shipment storage or destruction. The responsibilities include moving equipment and conducting daily inspections and/or is responsible for timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning. A Shunter is also expected to organize vehicles within a Stericycle yard to ensure they are ready for unloading loading and transport. The Stericycle yard is described as an enclosed property boundary that surrounds our buildings. The shunter will perform standard Plant Associate job duties as required. Assist with loading/unloading supplies. Organize warehouse

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains radio or telephone contact with Transportation team to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up. Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up

• Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage

• Perform all Plant Associate job duties as assigned

III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

• 1 year of experience

• Valid Drivers License

• Class 1/A-Z Commercial License

B. Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited)

Field: This job operates in both inside garage shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather heat and humidity.


This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols. As part of the ongoing employment requirements the successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testingincluding preemployment screening postincident evaluations reasonable suspicion checks and random testingin accordance with government regulations and company policies.

Pay: The expected base pay rate for this position is $35.20 /hour. This rate represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific rate offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates relevant experience education training certifications qualifications and work location.
