Role Overview
As theMine Engineer Short Term Planning reporting to the Senior Production Engineer you will play a pivotal role in developing maintaining and optimizing the short term mine plan for the Island Gold Mine. You will ensure alignment between development and production activities and the mines strategic objectives while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changes in operational priorities and. Working closely with operations engineering and geology teams you will deliver practical and executable plans that support short-term performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Mine Planning:Lead the development of 7/21 schedules mine plans and production forecasts that support operational execution and corporate objectives.
- Integration & Alignment:Integrate infrastructure construction and maintenance requirements into the shortârange plan and ensure alignment between shortârange midârange and longârange mine plans.
- Collaboration & Technical Support:Work closely with operations geology and engineering teams to ensure compliance with the mine plan and provide technical support to operations construction and technical services.
- Analysis & Optimization:Conduct scenario analysis and tradeâoff studies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of the mine plan.
- Reporting & Studies:Contribute to monthly reporting variance analysis and budgeting activities.
- Leadership & Development:Provide guidance to junior engineers & EITs surveyors and drill and blast planners and support senior engineers through active participation in siteâwide initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering.
- 35 years of underground mining experience including prior experience in an underground mine planning role.
- Strong knowledge of underground narrow vein mining methods (longhole mining preferred).
- High proficiency in Deswik mine planning and scheduling software or equivalent tools.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fastâpaced operational environment.
- Strong communication collaboration and problemâsolving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe responsible and sustainable mining practices.

Working Conditions

Salary Range:$98600-$147900 CAD
The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills experience and internal equity.
