Overview
The Shipper/Receiveris responsible foraccurately and efficiently managing all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure smooth operations. This role plays a critical part in supporting other business functions bymaintainingprecision and timeliness in the shipping and receiving process.
Manually load and unload materials from pallets skids platforms carsand lifting devices.
Put away received materials to proper storage locations.
Process all required paperwork andmaintainadequate records in Sage for reporting and tracking.
Maintain filing of shipping documents.
Prepare and schedule shipments anddaily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers.
Oversee the secure andaccurateloading and unloading of deliveries.
Perform forklift circle checks androutine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Sort and distribute incoming shipments to applicable departments.
Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing offand report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
Ensure that shipmentscontainproper documentation and if multiple items per shipment ensure item lists are complete.
Problem-solve for any causes of missing documents shipments and deliveries.
Perform all dutiesin accordance withSilent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations and Code.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated ability tooperatematerial handling equipment including forklifttruck.
Online shipping trackingand receiving experienceutilizingFedEx UPSPurolatorand DHL.
Experience in the manufacturing industrypreferred.
Minimum of twoyearsworking experience in shipping and receivingroleis.
Abilityto effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Basic mathematical skills.
Abilityto work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Dependablewithgood organizational timemanagementand prioritizing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Excel.
Exercise caution as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
Manual dexterityto use desktopcomputerand peripherals.
Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
Employeemay be exposed to uncomfortable work settings such as cold or hot weather outdoors; may have combinations of standing crouching or sitting throughout the day.
Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.

Communication is primarily internal to the assigned work team the Inventory and Materials Supervisors and Production and Plant Management.
