Wage Range:$23.07 up to $29.89 hourly

Job Summary

The Shipper / Receiver works with team members to facilitate the movement of parts supplies materials equipment and stock to and from establishments. You will provide support to ensure that shipping and receiving commitments are achieved. Key performance indicators will be defined to facilitate shipping and receiving including but not limited to moving loading (or unloading) materials by hand or by using a variety of material handling equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Organize the shipping & receiving department.
  • Label parts for shipping documents.
  • Make transportation/trucking arrangements.
  • Checking shipments received against bills of lading invoices or purchase orders to ensure that any discrepancies are identified and brought to the appropriate departments attention.
  • Inspecting shipments for damage and recording details.
  • Check part numbers and quantities to be shipped.
  • Generate packing slips for parts to be shipped.
  • Coordinate forklift and truck maintenance.
  • Building appropriate shipment skids and proper packaging techniques.
  • Ship control documents custom papers and packing slips.
  • Maintain Incoming / Outgoing inspections of material supplies and finished products.
  • Coordinating the movement of inventory throughout the plants.
  • Receiving of inventory.
  • Expediting material through the Visual system
  • Work with Quality Assurance inspecting all incoming and outgoing parts.
  • Maintain / clean and organize the yard outside the plant.
  • Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures

Educational Requirements:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Knowledge and training of hazardous goods and truck regulations
  • Forklift driving experience
  • Knowledge of crane operation
  • Previous experience in doing inventory shipping receiving
  • Computer skills in Word Excel ERP ( visual)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid G drivers license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:

  • Forklift experience (counterbalance)
  • ERP experience (Visual Manufacturing)
