The Role: Senior Superintendent Civil Infrastructure
We are seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for complex underground utilities and civil infrastructure projects up to $50 million in value. Reporting directly to senior leadership you will be responsible for overseeing site execution ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and within budget. You will lead field teams coordinate with subcontractors and clients and implement best practices to drive operational excellence. Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of field operations for civil infrastructure projects ensuring safe and efficient execution.
Team Management: Lead mentor and develop site personnel fostering a strong safety culture and teamwork environment.
Schedule & Budget Oversight: Monitor project schedules coordinate resources and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Quality Control: Ensure all work meets company and industry standards for safety quality and compliance.
Subcontractor & Client Coordination: Act as the primary site contact managing relationships with subcontractors clients and project stakeholders.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and implement innovative solutions to enhance project execution.
What You Bring:
15 years of experience in civil infrastructure and underground utilities construction.
10 years of leadership experience managing field teams on large-scale projects.
Proven track record delivering civil infrastructure projects up to $50 million in value.
Strong expertise in earthworks excavation underground utilities roadworks and municipal infrastructure.
Ability to drive project schedules manage costs and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with unionized and non-unionized work forces.
Proficiency in construction management software and scheduling tools.

Required Skills:
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with Estimating in project pursuits including risk management sub contract buy outs and proposals as needed Prepare and manage sub contractor contracts and hold backs for project milestones Monitor project status reports for performance in safety cost forecasting and scheduling Manage the financial performance of the projects including approval of change orders Managing project team client representative consultant and trade contractor relationships. Monitoring progress of the design including compliance issues quality general coordination constructability and timing of deliverables. Thorough communication of potential opportunities and challenges and managing clients expectations through regular communication. QUALIFICATIONS: Post secondary education or training in engineering construction management or a related discipline. 10 years heavy civil construction experience with at least 3 years in a Project Management role Experience in estimating civil and infrastructure projects preferred Experience managing heavy civil projects such as bridges underground infrastructure excavations and/or road construction Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health safety and environment principles and -depth knowledge of the construction industry including building materials construction specifications methods and procedures construction law and building codes and safety and quality management practices. Strong planning organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients consultants and sub-contractors Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management and scheduling software
