Were looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join in building the Scheduling product as part of Toasts Team Management Suite for restaurant employers. Youll play a key roll* in the design development and delivery of scalable software solutions that enable restaurant owners to build an optimal labor plan that balances interests in profitability employees desire for predictability and flexibility and guest satisfaction.

About this roll*:

As a Software Engineer on our team you will:

• Build run and improve core backend systems alongside a collaborative supportive team.
• Take end-to-end ownership of systems contributing to a strong engineering culture focused on quality reliability and long-term maintainability
• Lead work across the full development lifecycledesign estimation implementation testing debugging and deploymentwhile learning and applying best practices for building and operating reliable systems at scale.
• Ship code that directly impacts Toasts growth and the day-to-day operations of restaurant teams
• Partner with product and design to influence what we build and how we build it
• Contribute to and elevate team standards through thoughtful code reviews and technical discussions
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other team members

Do you have the right ingredients*

• 5 years of back-end experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages (such as Java Kotlin or similar).
• Experience owning and operating production systems.
• A track record of tackling ambiguous high-impact challenges and delivering scalable solutions
• Ability and motivation to learn quickly and apply knowledge to solve real problems
• A hunger to take on challenging projects and build systems that operate at massive scale.
