SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER I
Based out of Rocket Labs site Sinclair Interplanetary in Toronto Ontario Canada the Senior Project Manager I role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and is responsible for delivery of development projects with a focus on ADCS components for satellites. The successful candidate will have prior experience managing multiple development projects in aerospace or a similar industry.
WHAT YOULL GET TO DO:
- Own delivery of all key development projects ensuring schedule and budget are met
- Prepare and maintain schedule budget resource plans
- Collaborate closely with project team to ensure alignment between schedule and assigned tasks
- Run recurring project meetings and reviews record minutes and actions
- Provide progress updates for leadership and external stakeholders noting delays cost increases and risks
- Maintain the project risk register in collaboration with project technical lead
- Coordinate scheduling and planning for internal and external facilities
- Monitor procurement of long-lead items and key components and work with suppliers to ensure delivery dates are met
- Coordinate new product introduction with relevant teams (quality manufacturing production supply chain) and ensure schedule is aligned with sales pipeline
YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER I:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical electrical systems or aerospace engineering or other technical engineering discipline)
- 5 years of prior related work experience in aerospace or similar industry
- Proficiency with project and engineering management tools such as Microsoft Project Smartsheet etc
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Masters degree in engineering (mechanical electrical systems or aerospace engineering or other technical engineering discipline)
- Experience with ECSS and NASA standards for project management
- Project management qualifications such as PMP APMP etc
- Direct experience in designing developing and testing spacecraft structures optical systems and mechanisms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting standing walking computer work and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise dust and fumes in production areas.
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Ontario Pay Transparency Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
Base salary is only one part of Rocket Labs compensation package for this role. Base Pay Range (Ontario Only)
$10700 - $134000 CAD
