JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Project Controls Specialist.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Controls the Senior Project Controls Specialist will support departmental performance by leading project planning scheduling cost control and forecasting activities while providing expert advice and promoting best practices. The role also includes overseeing complex projects and managing team performance to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead and support the overall performance of the Project Controls function as part of the management team
  • Drive the development and optimization of systems for cost forecasting resource planning and project performance tracking
  • Establish and enhance standards processes and best practices for planning scheduling and cost control
  • Oversee integrated project controls across cost schedule and resources to support effective project delivery
  • Provide strategic advice and decision support to leadership on project performance risks and opportunities
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in project controls practices across the portfolio
  • Guide and support project teams on complex planning scheduling and cost control challenges
  • Lead mentor and develop team members fostering a culture of performance accountability and growth

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 year degree in project management business engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong expertise in project controls including planning scheduling cost management and forecasting
  • Demonstrated experience across full project lifecycles including design and construction environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 reporting tools and data analysis
  • Experience across project lifecycles including design construction rehabilitation and modification
  • Proven ability to apply trend analysis forecasting and risk management techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with diverse stakeholders

The base salary range considers many factors including but not limited to experience education and training including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions.
