About You

In one of our manufacturing roles youll focus on winning with consumers and the market while putting safety mutual respect and human dignity at the center. Job responsibilities include:

  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop and deliver equipment and processes that meet safety requirements policies and guidelines. Lead risk reduction activities that provide for the safety and well-being of operators maintenance and other personnel.

  • Manage multiple medium-to-large initiatives to deliver improvements to asset performance or plant systems improve product Quality and conformance and drive systems to reduce variability to meet quality scorecard metrics; lead major initiatives for breakthrough improvements solving higher level problems for the plant

  • Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles scientific analysis LEAN principles and project management.

  • Develop and incorporate best practices and centerlines to optimize key outputs.

  • Seeks recognizes defines and solves complex process issues to root cause to achieve objectives.

  • Participates in the development of others within the area of the incumbents expertise including the creation of knowledge transfer documentation materials.

  • Support maintenance personnel when troubleshooting complex issues.

  • Identify and document issues and opportunities with existing equipment.

  • Develop and maintain training plan for process resources at the site

  • Lead a safety work team

  • Execute product and process trials to drive improvements for assets and/or business. Coach teams on trial planning and trial preparation.

  • Support assets using engineering knowledge including being on-call and potential shift coverage

  • Provide input to plant expense and capital plans.

  • Provide input to capital teams so proposed changes are in-line with the 5-year vision. Involved with early design technology equipment selection sizing location etc. Provide oversight and support during installation and commissioning.

Ways of Working with our Digital Platforms:

  • Tier Accountability T1-3

  • Extending support to other plant operations as required

  • Participate in an EHSS Programs as a lead co-lead or participant

  • Standard Work Lead Problem Solves Lean Projects

  • Other Assignments as required

Flexibility:

  • Normal Scheduled hours will vary based on the need to support 24/7 Operation

  • Travel up to 15% for benchmarking best practice sharing

  • Potential of Shift Coverage to support assets projects or initiatives

To succeed in this role you will need the following qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelors or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering Pulp & Paper Science or closely related engineering from an accredited college or university.

  • At least 7 years or more of industrial experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing and/or staff environment.

  • Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools such as statistical process control design of experiments process capability studies Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing.

  • A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within required timeframes.

  • Lean Yellow Belt proficient in LEAN business practices; problem solving 5S

  • Financial Acumen required

  • Competent Digital Computer skills and applications for operations

  • Skills to multi-task in a dynamic work environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrate strong safety mindsets & behaviours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge with tissue production equipment materials and processes is a plus.

  • Multiple years of experience in a variety of plant manufacturing and staff support or capital project assignments including maintenance utilities and asset support.

  • Experience working with external technical service providers.

  • Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing equipment machine startups.

  • Experience and expertise in Kimberly-Clark engineering procedures and processes is beneficial

Along with base pay this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as location role skills performance and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to Canada locations only.
