Job Description
The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for endtoend Canadian payroll processing across multiple provinces. This role ensures accuracy compliance and timely payroll delivery while supporting payroll projects system enhancements and process improvements. Partners closely with HR Finance and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Process Canadian payroll for employees across multiple provinces
Audit payroll data and resolve discrepancies
Administer hires terminations ROEs leaves and payroll adjustments
Ensure compliance with CRA and provincial legislation
Manage statutory remittances (CPP EI income tax)
Prepare yearend filings (T4 T4A RL1)
Reconcile payroll to the general ledger
Respond to employee payroll inquiries
Partner with HR Finance and thirdparty vendors
Project & Process Responsibilities
Lead payrollrelated projects (system updates configuration changes new process rollouts)
Support Workday ADP Workforce Now or ADP Workforce Manager enhancements and testing
Maintain payroll documentation SOPs and process maps
Identify and implement process improvements
Support internal and external audits
Assist with new policy program or regulatory implementations
Basic Qualifications
10 years Canadian payroll experience
PCP certification required
Strong knowledge of CRA and provincial payroll legislation
Experience with Workday ADP Workforce Now ADP Workforce Manager or similar systems
Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
CPM certification
Quebec payroll experience
Global payroll exposure
Knowledge of stock compensation
