As the Senior Manager Health & Safety you will play a key leadership role in shaping and advancing SECUREs health and safety programs across the organization. You will have the opportunity to influence safety strategy strengthen consistency across operations and partner with leaders to drive a proactive accountable safety culture.
This role is based out of Calgary Alberta
You will lead a team of Health & Safety professionals focused on providing trusted expertise coaching and practical support across the business. The team works collaboratively with operational leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen safety performance and deliver consistent programs and solutions.
This is a dynamic operationally connected role that balances strategic leadership with hands-on support across SECUREs operations. You will work closely with leaders employees contractors and external partners to identify risks solve complex challenges and continuously improve health and safety performance.
- Oversee a team of H&S professionals to administer the H&S program.
- Provide subject matter expertise on the application and interpretation of SECURE safety programs including HSEMS safety systems policies programs procedures and work standards.
- Support plan coordinate and manage Health & Safety initiatives.
- Develop monitor and communicate SECURE health and safety management system policies and procedures
- Develop and communicate educational resources and technical aids for safety programs in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Lead and/or participate in audits (internal/external) across the organization. Identify risks and opportunities and provide solutions to close identified gaps.
- Provide guidance to the operational level to ensure compliance with HSEMS and regulatory requirements.
- Develop effective communication strategies related to H&S programs and systems.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of H&S programs and systems.
- Lead and manage the team to support the Contractor Management program client portals and variance requests.
- Provide lead support planning coordination and implementation for the Incident Management System project.
- Develop oversee and communicate SECUREs Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health & Wellness Program.
- Collaborate and develop educational resources such as training programs and ensure effective rollout across the organization.
- Assist with training of accountable leadership.
- Provide support on severe and serious potential incident investigations as required.
- Lead all H&S corporate audit programs (both internal and external) including COR.
- Monitor and prepare reporting on H&S statistical data performance metrics KPIs targets.
- A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in industry-related operations.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation would be considered an asset.
- Safety Management System including Industrial Hygiene Emergency Management and major investigation experience and background.
- A good understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles.
- Ability to multi-task prioritize and work well under pressure.
- Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization as well as with external regulators vendors and contractors.
- Ability to analyze health and safety statistical information.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
