The Client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex enterprise IT transformation initiatives under the 1GX ERP modernization program. Reporting to the Director 1GX Strategic and Operational Excellence the successful candidate will oversee procurement HRIS and financial system transformation projects within a large public-sector environment.
This role requires extensive experience managing enterprise-scale IT projects executive stakeholder engagement governance risk management and cross-functional delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead and manage large complex IT projects from initiation through completion.
Develop project charters business cases work plans schedules budgets and resource plans.
Define project scope objectives assumptions timelines risks and deliverables.
Manage multiple concurrent projects and project resources effectively.
Monitor project progress and provide status reporting to executive leadership and steering committees.
Facilitate executive decision-making using evidence-based recommendations.
Stakeholder & Governance Management
Build strong relationships with business stakeholders vendors executives and technical teams.
Coordinate governance activities and executive steering committee reporting.
Escalate project risks issues and dependencies as required.
Ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical & Business Coordination
Ensure IT solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.
Coordinate requirements gathering solution design and implementation activities.
Support procurement HRIS ERP and financial system modernization initiatives.
Collaborate with business and IT leadership to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
Risk Change & Quality Management
Maintain project risk and issue registers.
Support organizational change management and communication activities.
Ensure compliance with project management office (PMO) standards and methodologies.
Recommend process improvements and lessons learned for future initiatives.
Required Experience
Mandatory Qualifications
Bachelors degree or diploma in IT Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years of:
Project management experience
Managing multiple concurrent projects
Defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders
Developing project deliverables including charters and business cases
Preferred Experience
Experience managing:
Procurement transformation projects
HRIS implementations within the public sector
Budgeting and forecasting systems preferably SAP-based
Experience presenting briefing notes and status reports to executive steering committees.
Experience working within enterprise architecture environments.
Experience in public sector organizations preferably in Canada.
Experience with Agile Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
Experience leading large-scale enterprise software implementations.
Certifications
Active PMP or PgMP certification preferred.
Soft Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
