The Project Manager is responsible for planning coordinating executing and monitoring projects to ensure they are delivered on time within budget and in accordance with contractual quality and organizational requirements. The incumbent works closely with clients and internal stakeholders to support successful project execution while maintaining compliance with established project management methodologies and governance processes.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans schedules budgets and resource allocations.
- Coordinate project tasks milestones and deliverables to ensure smooth and effective project execution.
- Coordinate and oversee delivery across all support domains including:
- Remote technical support
- Shipboard technical support
- Preventive and corrective maintenance<
- Engineering support and system upgrades
- Supply and logistics support
- Configuration management
- Ensure timely response to operational issues
- Oversee troubleshooting incident resolution and technical reporting
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules scope and deliverables identifying potential risks and delays.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate project management tools techniques and metrics.
- Escalate issues risks and concerns to management and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Serve as a key liaison between clients vendors subcontractors and internal teams to ensure effective communication and alignment.
- Facilitate project meetings prepare agendas and minutes and track action items to completion.
- Prepare and present project status reports for management and customers.
- Support the development and management of project budgets ensuring expenditures remain aligned with approved funding.
- Track project expenditures and monitor budget performance to ensure cost control and financial compliance.
- Collaborate with functional managers to monitor labor hours and associated costs for ongoing projects ensuring compliance with contract requirements including cost-plus programs where applicable.
- Review and analyze labor and financial reports to identify discrepancies trends and opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Estimate at Completion (EAC) management
- Support in the development of bid & proposal and contribution of content to a proposal package.
- Coordinate activities across internal teams subcontractors Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and external stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive project records files and documentation to support audits reviews and project closeout activities.
- Ensure adherence to project management methodologies quality standards contractual obligations and organizational policies.
- Support internal and external audits management reviews lessons learned sessions and post-project evaluations.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance project processes tools and reporting practices.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Engineering Project Management or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project coordination or project management roles.
- Experience managing projects in a government defense aerospace engineering or technical environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with cost control budgeting and labor tracking is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and principles (PMI/PMP Agile or equivalent) is considered an asset.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with theControlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
