Who we need

Reporting to the Director of Logistics we are hiring a Senior Import and Export Coordinator to take ownership of our import and export activities across Canada the United States and Mexico. You will coordinate with internal teams vendors and customs brokers to facilitate time-sensitive shipments resolve issues and help ensure our goods reach their destinations accurately and on schedule. With a particular focus on Mexico you will help strengthen our cross-border processes navigate changing tariff and customs requirements and provide the expertise needed to support business continuity and on-time delivery.

This is a newly created full-time onsite role based in Scarborough with flexibility in working hours to support international teams and time-sensitive shipping requirements.

As our new Senior Import and Export Coordinator you will:

• Coordinate international shipments. You will manage import and export activities across Canada the United States and Mexico coordinating with internal teams vendors and customs brokers to ensure shipments are processed accurately and delivered on time. You will support the movement of goods into and out of Mexico including shipments originating in China and help resolve issues that could affect delivery timelines.
• Manage customs documentation. You will prepare and review commercial invoices shipping labels and other required documentation for international shipments. You will generate FedEx UPS and DHL labels ensure shipment information is complete and accurate and coordinate the paperwork required for goods to cross borders.
• Navigate trade regulations. You will monitor and interpret evolving customs regulations tariffs taxes and import and export requirements across North America with particular expertise in Mexico. You will assess the impact of regulatory changes on our operations identify potential risks and recommend practical solutions that support compliance and business continuity.
• Coordinate with customs brokers. You will work closely with Our Custom Brokers and other partners to facilitate customs clearance resolve documentation and payment issues and improve the efficiency of our cross-border processes. You will help strengthen broker relationships and identify opportunities to reduce delays and improve on-time delivery.
• Support financial and tax requirements. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand payment terms VAT duties and other costs associated with international shipments. You will help ensure the appropriate information is available to support accurate processing and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Own the operational process. You will take ownership of the import and export function in Canada ensuring critical activities continue smoothly and that appropriate coverage is maintained. You will work independently communicate issues promptly and adapt your schedule when shipment timelines and business requirements demand it.
• Strengthen processes and share expertise. You will contribute to improving import and export workflows identifying opportunities to address recurring challenges and sharing your knowledge of customs terminology documentation and regulations with relevant stakeholders. You will help build a more resilient and efficient cross-border operation.

You have:

• The import and export experience. You have practical experience coordinating international imports and exports with a strong understanding of customs documentation cross-border shipping processes and regulatory requirements. You have experience working with Mexico Canada and the United States including the movement of goods between these markets. You can independently manage the day-to-day requirements of an import and export function and apply your knowledge to resolve complex operational challenges.
• The Mexico trade expertise. You have strong knowledge of Mexican customs regulations import and export procedures terminology and applicable taxes including VAT. You understand the importance of accurate documentation customs clearance and timely communication when coordinating shipments into and out of Mexico. Experience with evolving tariff requirements and international trade regulations is essential.
• The technical skills. You have experience preparing commercial invoices generating FedEx or DHL shipping labels and working with Incoterms and HS codes to support accurate customs documentation. You understand how product materials and commodities such as metal and plastic displays can affect classification and customs requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other administrative tools is an asset.
• The communication skills. You are fluent in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with internal stakeholders vendors customs brokers and international teams in both languages. You can translate technical customs and trade terminology into clear practical information and build effective working relationships across countries and functions. Additional language skills are an asset.
• The organizational skills. You are highly organized detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple time-sensitive shipments and competing priorities. You understand the importance of accuracy follow-through and proactive communication in a function that directly affects customer delivery commitments. You can identify potential issues early escalate concerns promptly and work collaboratively to find solutions.
• The independence and flexibility. You take ownership of your responsibilities and can work with limited supervision while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and accountability. You understand that international shipping schedules can change and are comfortable adjusting your working hours when required to support urgent shipments international time zones and business needs. You bring sound judgment reliability and a willingness to contribute beyond your immediate responsibilities when priorities shift.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $64000-$70000. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience skill set and alignment with our internal compensation framework. Were always happy to answer questions about compensation throughout the hiring process.
