Senior Full Stack Developer

The Role

As part of the development team you will play a key role in the evolution of the VOSKER and SPYPOINT web application used daily by our addition to contributing directly to the code across the entire technology stack you will act as a technical reference for the team: you will support less experienced developers influence architectural decisions and help raise quality standards. Your decisions will have a direct and visible impact on the product and on the teams growth.

Responsibilities

Development

• Design develop and maintain efficient reusable tested and reliable code on both the front end and back end;
• Design and evolve APIs and services;
• Participate in architectural decisions and propose technical solutions tailored to business needs;
• Prepare detailed test plans and write automated tests (unit integration and end-to-end);
• Diagnose and resolve complex performance security and reliability issues in production;
• Evaluate new technologies and development tools and make recommendations;
• Write and maintain technical documentation.

Mentoring and Technical Leadership

• Support and mentor junior and intermediate developers through pair programming knowledge sharing and support in their development;
• Lead code reviews with a constructive and educational approach;
• Define document and promote the teams coding standards and best practices;
• Contribute to the technical onboarding of new team members;
• Lead or participate in design workshops estimation sessions and deployment activities;
• Coordinate the various stages of the development cycle in collaboration with analysts product owners designers and other developers;
• Act as a technical point of contact for non-technical stakeholders and explain technical issues in easy-to-understand terms.

Qualifications :

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in computer science software engineering or another relevant field of study or equivalent experience;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in full stack development including demonstrated experience mentoring or supporting developers;
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React;
• Strong back-end development experience with and/or Go;
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and caching systems (Redis);
• Experience in system design: application architecture APIs data management performance and the BFF (backend-for-frontend) model;
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows;
• Strong understanding of software design principles design patterns and best practices (clean code testing security);
• Bilingualism (French and English) both spoken and written. Frequent interactions outside Quebec.

Assets

• Experience with Docker and containerization; knowledge of Kubernetes is an asset;
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and AWS cloud computing;
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban);
• Experience as a technical team lead (tech lead) or in a technical reference role.
