As a Senior Data Analyst you will be part of a team that serves as the backbone for commercial credit risk data. The role is fundamentally datacentric with a primary focus on working with large datasets building and maintaining ETL pipelines and ensuring data accurately reflects underlying business processes. Your work will help ensure that credit risk systems ratings and reporting are reliable wellgoverned and aligned with how the business actually operates.
You will spend the majority of your time analyzing data at the source-writing SQL queries identifying root causes of data issues and partnering with stakeholders to resolve them. Just as important youll help bridge the gap between data and business bringing clarity to how commercial lending products work and how changes in processes or systems should be reflected in data flows.
This role offers exposure to commercial lending credit risk concepts and regulatory considerations within a collaborative team that values clear communication practical problemsolving and continuous improvement. It is ideal for someone who is strong with data curious about banking and risk and motivated to see their work have real downstream impact.
The role is based in downtown Toronto (250 Yonge) and operates in a hybrid model (3 days in office).

Investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services and inform business decisions. Defines business requirements to inform technology build and operations by sourcing and analyzing relevant data reviewing and documenting business processes and collaborating with business stakeholders. Sources business and market data to evaluate the effect of projects on business results. Also assesses the efficiency and the performance of technology (software hardware and the wider IT system) to deliver expected business results. Identifies and analyzes malfunctions system workflow and troubleshoots issues raised by business.
Elicits requirements and analyzes feasibility to ensure solutions/initiatives achieve the expected business outcomes.
Supports various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development is aligned with the business requirements.
Develops informative coherent and usable project documents (project artifacts) for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements.
Applies depth of domain & functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive the expected business value.
Breaks down strategic problems and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Builds tests cases in order to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results.
Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader enterprise-wide focus.
Provides specialized consulting analytical and technical support.
Exercises judgment to identify diagnose and solve problems within given rules.
Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
