The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children youth families and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy productive adults.

The ministry also invests in community-based groups that support prevention and early intervention services such as Family Resource Networks youth emergency shelters as well as programs that raise awareness and help respond to family violence sexual violence and abuse.

Help shape a more culturally informed and responsive public service. As the Senior Cultural Education Analyst you will lead research evaluation and strategic initiatives that strengthen Indigenous cultural understanding across Children and Family Services. Your work will influence policy build meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities and support culturally safe practices that improve outcomes for Indigenous children families and communities.

Reporting to the Manager Culture this role provides strategic leadership in Indigenous cultural education research evaluation and stakeholder engagement to advance the Indigenous Cultural Understanding Framework (ICUF). This role develops and evaluates cultural learning initiatives builds collaborative partnerships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders and supports the integration of Indigenous perspectives across Children and Family Services.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Indigenous Cultural Education Strategy and Evaluation: Lead the research development implementation and evaluation of the Indigenous Cultural Understanding Framework (ICUF) using evidence-based approaches to measure outcomes and continuously improve cultural learning across the ministry.
  • Develop and Deliver Learning and Capacity-Building Initiatives: Design coordinate and facilitate Indigenous cultural awareness workshops learning resources and training programs that strengthen cultural competency and support culturally safe practices for ministry staff.
  • Provide Strategic Research Analysis and Project Leadership: Conduct research prepare briefings business cases reports and recommendations and provide analytical expertise to support strategic planning policy development and informed decision-making related to Indigenous cultural initiatives.
  • Build Collaborative Partnerships and Foster Indigenous Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities organizations government ministries and stakeholders to promote meaningful engagement respectful partnerships and the integration of Indigenous perspectives across ministry initiatives.
  • Manage Contracts Grants and Program Delivery: Oversee contracts and grants supporting Indigenous cultural learning initiatives monitor project deliverables and outcomes manage reporting requirements and ensure effective delivery of programs aligned with ministry priorities.
