You will work in our office in Waterloo ON a minimum of two (2) assigned consecutive days every other week plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum youll do:Monitor and assess regulatory requirements across business lines to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable legislation guidelines and corporate policiesAnalyze complex legislation regulations and industry guidance translating requirements into clear actionable business practicesProvide expert advice and guidance to business units on regulatory requirements product development and operational processes to ensure complianceSupport the identification assessment and implementation of regulatory changes working closely with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective adoptionContribute to compliance governance activities including committee participation reporting and oversight of compliance initiativesCollaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to address compliance matters support filings and respond to inquiriesIdentify gaps risks or inefficiencies within existing processes and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance practicesPrepare and deliver reports documentation and presentations for senior management and compliance youll bring:Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as business law finance or a related disciplineMinimum 5 years of progressive experience in the insurance industry with exposure to regulatory compliance policy interpretation or governance functionsStrong knowledge of insurance products regulatory environments and applicable federal and provincial legislationDemonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws regulations and industry guidelines within a business contextExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex issues and provide well-reasoned recommendationsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex regulatory concepts to diverse audiencesExperience reviewing and advising on product materials contracts and business initiatives for regulatory complianceProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholdersHigh attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation reporting and compliance activitiesAbility to work independently and take ownership of compliance initiatives while contributing to team objectivesExperience interacting with regulatory bodies industry groups or governance committees is considered an assetWhats in it for you:Career Growth: Regular learning sessions and developmentopportunitiesTotal Rewards: Incentive pay annual salary reviews employer-paid benefits and pensionmatchingTime Away: Competitive vacation plus one paid volunteer day each yearFlexibility: Healthy work-life balance with employee wellness always top of mind complemented by a dress for your day approachAt Equitable were committed to fair pay and an inclusive accessible hiring experience.
