Job Summary
Prior to May 1 2022 the University required all students faculty staff and visitors (including contractors) to declare their COVID-19 vaccination status and provide proof that they were fully vaccinated or had an approved accommodation to engage in in-person University activities. A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Manager Security Operations Centre Information Technology Services (IT Services) the Security Operations Analyst is part of a dynamic team responsible to run cybersecurity operations for Queens digital environment to investigate cyber risk and to facilitate remediation of identified vulnerabilities across the institution. This position analyzes cybersecurity events threats vulnerabilities exploits and incidents. This position provides regular maintenance of audit applications and troubleshoots and resolves issues with security systems integration. This position updates and maintains security user access controls. This position also updates documentation for service solutions security requirements as well as policies and procedures. Maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with IT Services teams and clients across the institution the Analyst also identifies ways to reduce risk and documents the remediation options regarding acceptance or mitigation of risk scenarios. What you will do
Analyzes cybersecurity events threats vulnerabilities exploits and incidents to determine the root cause.
Assists with regular maintenance of audit applications including configuring and monitoring.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues with systems integrations.
Updates and maintains security monitoring use cases systems and defined user access controls.
Assists with implementing information security and risk management solutions.
Updates and maintains documentation for service solutions code configurations specifications security requirements as well as policies and procedures.
Participates in the development of application security operational capabilities activities and compliance requirements.
Analyzes new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality with existing applications environments.
Required Education
Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree or addition requires trade certification qualification or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience
More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
