SAP S/4HANA Upgrade Project Manager.

A brief Job Description: The SAP S/4HANA Upgrade Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of an upgrade from an existing SAP S/4HANA version to the latest release (2025 target). This role ensures the upgrade is delivered on time within scope and compliant with governance and regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Governance
o Develop and manage detailed project plans timelines and resource allocations aligned with global program milestones.
o Establish and maintain RAID logs (Risks Assumptions Issues Dependencies).
o Ensure compliance with SAP Activate methodology and internal governance frameworks.
Execution & Delivery
o Oversee all phases of the upgrade lifecycle: preparation sandbox testing development QA and production cutover.
o Coordinate integrated testing (validation regression performance).
o Manage change control processes and ensure business continuity during and post-upgrade.
Stakeholder Management
o Act as the primary liaison between IT business process owners SAP consultants BASIS teams and external vendors.
o Provide regular status updates and executive reporting to senior leadership.
Risk & Compliance
o Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
o Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (especially for industries like pharma or life sciences).
Business Readiness
o Drive change management training and documentation readiness.
o Support user adoption and post-upgrade stabilization.
Required Qualifications
Experience
o 10 years in SAP Project Management.
o Proven track record in SAP S/4HANA upgrade projects (e.g. from 2020/2021 to 2023 or later).
o Experience in highly regulated environments (pharmaceutical biotech life sciences preferred).
Skills
o Strong knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.
o Expertise in Supply Chain and Manufacturing workstreams.
o Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
o Familiarity with multi-vendor coordination and global project governance.
o Integration
Certifications
o PMP PRINCE2 or equivalent.
o SAP-specific certifications (optional but preferred).
Preferred
Experience with complex integrations and custom code remediation.
Understanding of SAP system architecture and BASIS activities.
Ability to lead large-scale testing and cutover activities
