At Family Services of Greater Vancouver weve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit we help people develop skills and knowledge empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate client-centred care to youth experiencing homelessness families and children impacted by trauma victims of domestic violence and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based trauma-informed lens. This multi-faceted position works with Family Counsellors to support clients in securing and moving to permanent housing; securing appropriate childcare for their children; providing emergency supervised access and in-office child-minding; and linking clients to appropriate community addition to working closely with families this job requires that the Resource Worker will continuously update relevant information related to housing and daycare.

Salary:GS 9 Step 1; $28.81 per hour

What do you need to succeed
Education Training Experience
  • 2-year diploma in youth care or 2 years post-secondary education in a related field
  • Current First Aid certification is an asset
Role Qualifications and skills include but are not limited to
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Awareness of community services resources and systems
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask showing initiative and flexibility
  • Ability to maintain a schedule that allows for both day and evening work and a willingness and ability to work with other systems
Additional Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Drivers License
