The School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies is accepting applications for one (1) position of Replacement Professor. We are looking for candidates with expertise in the following areas: methodology and research design at the undergraduate and graduate levels; qualitative and/or quantitative research methodology practicums; work with civil society organizations particularly in francophone contexts.
Expertise in experiential learning is considered an asset. Priority will be given to candidates who are able to teach in both French and English from the outset.

TITLE OF THE POSITION: Replacement Professor
DUTIES
Teaching six courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
Participating in academic and administrative activities
Other activities as specified in the collective agreement
QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Ph.D. in Sociology. Candidates who are close to completing a Ph.D. may be considered;
Demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in teaching and research
BILINGUALISM
The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution. Active bilingualism (English-French) is an advantage at the time of hiring.
TERMS AND SALARY
The initial appointment will begin on January 1 2027 for two (2) years and will be renewable for a further period of up to three (3) years to end on June 30 2031.
The salary scale for replacement professors is dependent on academic rank and starts at $99377 (as of May 1 2025).
