About the Opportunity
Assistsin the development of menusin accordance withtherapeutic nutrition guidelines
Assesses residents nutritional status on admission and at least semi-annually; reviews monthly weights and follows up asrequired
Addresses clients individual dietary concerns
Establishes andmaintainspersonal nutritional needs of each client
Completes texture modification assessments on referral
Oversees and plans special nutrition needs for special dietsallergiesand disease conditions
Presents staff and client education sessions on nutrition and other related topics based on indicators andidentifiedneeds
Communicates client nutrition care plans to clients/family/staff as appropriate
Collects and entersappropriate datainto database
Documents clinical nutrition indicators monthly
Administers the operating budget for dietary services overseeing the preparation of purchase ordersverificationand approval of invoices for payment
Additionalduties as assigned/required
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvementcollaborationand accountability you bring:
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition
Membership with professional association
Excellent communication computer and organizational skills
Experience in a long-term care setting is considered an asset
Current First Aid & CPR and valid Food Handlers Certificate isrequired
Successful candidates willbe requiredto obtain a clear Criminal Record Check and where applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to appointment.
