Job Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for providing effective customer service related to Member Benefit Plan Trust Funds as specified by the collective bargaining agreements and the direction of the Board of Trustees. Effectively receives and deposits all employer benefit contributions and member self payments.

The Receptionistwill:
  • Directs all incoming calls to the correct staff member in a professional and timely manner.

  • Assists any walk in members in a courteous and professional manner. Answer members general inquiries and promptly direct to appropriate contacts for additional information.

  • Processes member enrollment cards and updates members personal policy information.

  • Receives daily mail and distributes to appropriate staff members.

  • Produces letters requested by members confirming benefit status eligibility and dependent information.

  • Reviews employer contribution reports and member self payments by entering remittance details into Benefit Plan Administration System (BPAS) and prepare daily bank deposits.

  • Prepares ad hoc reporting on request.

Key Contacts/Relationships External and Internal:

  • Reports directly to the Account Manager.

  • Works cooperatively as a member of the I.U.P.A.T. Trust Fund Administration team.

  • Deals directly with participating employers benefit plan members and their dependents and Union Representatives.

  • Works cooperatively with Accounting Department at our Mississauga location.

To be successful as a Receptionist with BPA you will need:
  • Good mathematical ability and knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and accurately process a high volume of work in a timely manner.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate computer skills in the use of related computer applications including Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional organization skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Cooperative team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

The base salary for this position is between $40000 - $45000 annually.

The actual base salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
