Job Summary
This position reports to the Quality Specialist and is responsible for QC inspections from incoming through to final inspections of outgoing orders. Documents and reports on any non-conforming materials/products and assists in investigating and resolving such issues.B - RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES Quality Control (85% of time)Conducts incoming inspection in-process and final inspection of products and materialsConducts inspection of shipment creates and controls Certificates of ConformanceConducts first-off inspection of production set-upsDocuments product issues and communicates clearly to various personnelAssists in creating inspection instructions records and quality documentation for productsAssists in collecting data such as inspection and test results to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and inspection/test techniquesGenerates weekly/monthly reports based on Quality Action Support (15% of time)Responsible for inspection of return materials entering and leaving the Pembroke Customer Service in Ottawa facility by participating in root cause investigations on customer complaints and faulty productsInitiates NCRs for inspection issues1) Education and TrainingTechnical certificate/diploma in textile mechanical electronic or equivalent discipline or combination of MES product knowledge and experience and Safety Training certification as Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and/or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred.2) Experience1-3 years experience in a quality inspection function in an ISO 9001 manufacturing in the use of inspection measuring and test tools and calibration practices and equipment (calipers micrometers etc.).Exposure to statistical process control (control charts) in a manufacturing environment.3) Other Skills and AbilitiesAttention to decision making manage and organize multiple work activities in order to meet or exceed established deadlines and people/team skills with an ability to work to describe or explain information and relay instructions to to organize document and present technical documents such as drawings and schematic computer skills including spreadsheets and databases.
