Job Summary
LEVEL: HOURLY
WAGE: $32.02 Per Hour
General Purpose:
The QC Lab Technicianis responsible to learn and perform all lab quality control tests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs moisture ash protein farinograph bake fallingnumber viscosity starch damage and other related testing
Generate CoAs (Certificate of Analysis) as required.
Make ship/hold decisions including updating relatedcomputer programs.
Daily computer entry of all results.
Maintains a clean and orderly condition of the laboratory.
Keeps working area in a clean and orderly condition whichincludes issuing and making sure the Master Sanitation Schedule is kept up.
Works responsibly throughout shift.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with otheremployees and members of the management team.
Meets deadlines and completes projects as assigned in atimely manner.
Maintains efficient and safe performance in all areas ofwork.
Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour OccupationalHealth and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) whileperforming job duties and tasks.
Performs all other related duties including trainingrelief and product development as required.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent includingcompletion of Grade 12 Chemistry.
Graduation from a recognized food science program withtraining in quality control would be an asset or Completion of Assigned AIBCourses within a 12 month period will berequired (failure to complete the assigned courses will result in being removedfrom the position).
An aptitude for and experience with computer applications.
Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
Above average interpersonal and communicationskills.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work instressful situations while demonstrating a professional and positive attitudewhen faced with challenges.
Available for shift work as well as work on weekendsholidays and call outs as required.
