Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a Design Project Control Professional to join the team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in leading project controls integration on major projects within the Design & Engineering sector providing project controls leadership across the design phase of major capital projects. The position is focused on ensuring effective integration of scope schedule cost risk change and progress information while supporting informed decision-making and the successful delivery of complex capital programs through strong governance cross-functional coordination analysis and reporting.

Role accountabilities:

In this role you will establish and maintain integrated project control systems such as Oracle and Unifier ensuring they are accurately configured and that project data remains robust aligned and reliable throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee the coordination of timesheet inputs labour data progress measurement and reporting requirements while also preparing analyzing and presenting KPI metrics dashboards and performance indicators for management review. You will play a key role in facilitating monthly performance reviews integrated forecasting and project reporting to support informed project and leadership decision-making.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated performance insight reports that bring together information from planning design management commercial risk change and delivery teams to provide a clear view of project status trends and emerging issues. As part of the wider project controls function you will ensure consistent data structures support effective performance baselining and help translate complex project information into clear reporting for senior addition you will assist in the development and review of control account structures project breakdown structures and reporting frameworks to support the effective management of design scope and program performance.

A key aspect of the role will involve maintaining complete and well-organized project controls records including baselines change logs assumptions action trackers and all relevant supporting documentation. You will identify and help resolve project controls issues working collaboratively with the wider project controls team and discipline leads to recommend practical supporting the setup of major projects you will contribute to the development of project controls processes management plans reporting frameworks governance routines and KPI structures helping to ensure a strong integrated controls foundation from project inception.

Within a major project or program environment you will work closely with the Project Director and Commercial Lead to provide leadership across all aspects of integrated project controls. You will collaborate with the broader project team to ensure alignment across design planning risk commercial and delivery functions while also mentoring project controllers and promoting consistent application of project controls procedures. Drawing on your knowledge of NEC FIDIC or other standard forms of contract you will help ensure controls alignment and project success while also contributing to the Performance Excellence Group championing best-practice project controls integration and continuous improvement. As with all roles you will undertake any additional duties required by your Line Manager or Arcadis while maintaining full compliance with Health Safety and Environmental regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in quantity surveying engineering or construction management or similar
  • 5-8 years experience in cost management quantity surveying or project controls on large infrastructure projects (Marine projects preferred)
  • Membership in recognized professional bodies (e.g. PQS MRICS MCIOB) is preferred
  • Prove experience working within a design and engineering consultancy environment
  • Proficiency with Oracle ERP or similar financial systems and advanced Excel; experience with Power BI Smartsheet or similar tools is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy in assessing cost risk and performance data

  • Working knowledge with Earned Value Management (EVM) change control and risk management frameworks and their application across complex projects
  • Working understanding of the use of risk tools such as Acumen Risk is beneficial

The salary range for this position is $93000 - $139000. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
