Opportunity

The Program Coordinator Eco Youth Alliance is responsible for coordinating and delivering the Eco Youth Alliance program for immigrant and BIPOC youth aged 15-30 across five regions of British Columbia. The program will equip youth with leadership project management and proposal writing skills to design and implement community-based environmental project

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment intake and selection of youth participants for program cohorts.
  • Develop and facilitate structured workshops covering leadership project development proposal writing and community engagement.
  • Ensure all program activities align with the Eco Youth Alliance objectives and Canada Service Corps (CSC) micro-grant goals.
  • Provide logistical support for program activities including securing venues coordinating virtual sessions and managing workshop materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions and modify content as needed to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Develop and implement structured mentorship and support systems for youth participants.
  • Support youth in developing competitive micro-grant proposals and oversee the proposal review and selection process.
  • Coordinate the distribution of 300 micro-grants over two years and track the progress of funded youth-led projects.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and evaluations with youth project leaders to ensure their projects remain on track and provide necessary support.
  • Collaborate with environmental organizations and mentors to provide youth with ongoing
  • guidance.
  • Track participant engagement progress and project success through qualitative and
  • quantitative data collection.
  • Conduct surveys focus groups and one-on-one evaluations to assess program impact.
  • Prepare monthly quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders including funders.

Qualified Candidates will possess:

  • Post-secondary degree in social sciences environmental studies youth development or a related field;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination youth engagement or community development.; or an equivalent combination of education training & experience;
  • Experience working with BIPOC and newcomer youth populations;
  • Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability community leadership and project development.
  • Excellent facilitation mentorship and communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs and material;
  • Able to make public presentations and group facilitation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team setting;
  • Sound knowledge of community resources and ability to network and build partnerships;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines;
  • Strong computer literacy skills (including MS Windows MS Word MS Works MS Excel and the internet).
