About the Role
The Program Coordinator is a vital member of the Innovate BC (IBC) Programs team responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of programs that drive innovation and company growth within the province. The role requires a detail-oriented individual to assist with new program implementation and conduct ongoing evaluations of existing programs. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing contract documents coordinating and reviewing financial and progress reports and collaborating with other departments and external program partners.
Compensation: $49000-$63500 per year
Reporting to: Director Tech Validation and Commercial Readiness
Location: Vancouver BC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid role with a requirement to work in-office at least two days per week
Employment Type: 1 Year Term Full Time

What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Business Execution:
Program Support:


  • Assist in delivering programs to enhance client service. Primary program focus areas will be: BC On-Farm Technology Adoption Program Microgrant Early Stage Demonstration Integrated Markets with other supporting areas designated as appropriate
  • Assist in creating program reports analyzing data and maintaining related databases
  • Monitor and evaluate existing programs by reviewing objectives developing evaluation criteria revising reporting forms evaluating processes and timelines and contributing to the development of promotional materials
Stakeholder Engagement:


  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with program partners funders and support agencies providing regular program information statistics and reports
  • Promote programs to clients and potential clients through meetings industry associations academic institutions economic development offices trade shows technical conferences and workshops
  • Provide advice information and assistance to clients and potential clients regarding specific programs and refer them to other programs agencies investors or commercial lenders
Technical/Position Delivery:
Compliance and Reporting:


  • Monitor and audit ongoing projects to ensure compliance with policies standards and formal project agreements by reviewing and approving disbursement requests budget changes financial statements and technical reports
  • Identify actual or potential project problems and take corrective action as required; prepare project reports and provide ongoing information to IBC management and external sponsors and funders
Research and Development:


  • Conduct special studies make presentations and participate in internal and external committee work related to the areas of responsibility
  • Maintain current awareness of developments in science and technology entrepreneurship economic development and financial assistance programs

What You Will Need


  • Degree diploma designation or equivalent in a related field (e.g. business administration commerce accounting procurement and contract management risk management or law) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Program Assistant Program Coordinator or related position
  • Advanced planning organizational analytical and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
  • Strong communication facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to direct and manage multiple activities while maintaining attention to detail and making appropriate decisions regarding the progress of projects and disbursement of funds
  • Demonstrated proactive flexible and collaborative team member
  • Knowledge of skills required for entrepreneurship or the commercialization of technology is an asset
