Production Control Supervisor
Job Summary
Purpose of position
To work with Supervisors and Crew Chiefs to establish work planned and manpower requirements by skill set license category including synchronizing the resources between multiple dock lines. To ensure employees and crew chiefs are maintaining the current production plan and providing coaching and possible disciplinary action if required.
Key responsibilities
- Attend pre-induction meetings with Planning Procurement Stores Engineering Quality and Production to ensure all issues are identified prior to induction and develop an action plan to address issues.
- Establish production flow chart of major milestones and tasks required to be completed for each day in dock.
- Transpose flow chart to both the Production Control Management System and the Production Control Whiteboards.
- Liaise with Planning to determine a suitable date prior to induction for locking down the work package.
- Determine required by dates for all parts and tools that meet production deadlines and liaise with both Procurement and Stores to monitor status of inbound parts and tools.
- Conduct daily audits of paperwork to ensure all tasks are completed and signed by authorized and appropriately licensed personnel to ensure they are compliant with CARS571.03 MPM (Maintenance Procedures Manual) Part 1 and MPM Part 2.
- Facilitate daily production meetings to report on status of check and to attend meetings as required.
- Carry out necessary coaching and possible disciplinary actions with production staff as required.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety and the safety of co-workers and customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Transport Canadaapproved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) program.
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License.
- Strong production management skills including administration prioritization process improvement and benchmarking for best practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of airline operations including safety and regulatory requirements maintenance programs and planning.
- Minimum 5 years experience working in an airline maintenance environment.
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft (Excel Word PowerPoint Access) and TRAX.
Willing and able to work varying shifts and weekends as required.
Preferred qualifications
- Project Management experience or certification.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Experience supervising or managing personnel in a unionized environment.
