Performance Quality Engineering Consultant
Job Summary
Position Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our clients and/or downtown Toronto officeat a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time
We are seeking a skilled Performance Tester to design execute and analyze performance tests to ensure application scalability reliability and responsiveness under varying workloads.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Design develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as LoadRunner NeoLoad or similar technologies.
Perform workload modeling and simulate real-world user scenarios to validate application scalability and stability.
Execute performance load stress volume and endurance testing for enterprise applications and systems.
Monitor application and infrastructure performance using tools such as Dynatrace and other observability platforms.
Analyze performance test results identify system bottlenecks and provide actionable recommendations for optimization.
Collaborate closely with Development QA Infrastructure and DevOps teams to improve application performance and reliability.
Prepare and maintain detailed performance test reports dashboards and performance benchmarking metrics.
Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting for performance-related issues across different environments.
Validate system capacity throughput response times and resource utilization under varying load conditions.
Participate in performance tuning activities and provide recommendations to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.
Integrate performance testing processes into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and delivery.
Ensure adherence to testing standards best practices and documentation requirements.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across testing and release processes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Hands-on 5 years of experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner and/or NeoLoad.
Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies including load stress spike endurance and scalability testing.
Experience working with Dynatrace or similar Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and observability tools.
Solid understanding of workload modeling performance engineering and capacity planning concepts.
Ability to analyze application logs system metrics and performance data to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
Experience preparing detailed performance reports dashboards and recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
Strong troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Experience with Parasoft Virtualize or other service virtualization tools.
Development or scripting experience using Java Python or similar programming languages.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines DevOps practices and automation frameworks.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure AWS or GCP.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or a related field.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance-related issues.
Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Relevant performance testing or cloud certifications are considered an asset

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80000$130000. This role is an existing vacancy.
