PCP Certified Payroll & Compliance Specialist
Job Summary
This is a remote position.
- Process end-to-end Canadian payroll (bi-weekly/semi-monthly)
- Calculate and remit statutory deductions (income tax CPP EI) to the Canada Revenue Agency
- Manage employee onboarding/offboarding payroll setup and Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Prepare and submit year-end filings including T4 slip and T4 Summary
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal and provincial legislation
- Coordinate employer obligations with WCB-Alberta
- Ensure compliance with multi-province payroll regulations (if applicable)
- Support audits reconciliations and internal reporting
- Drive payroll process improvements and automation initiatives
- Active Payroll Certification required:
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) OR
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM)
Both issued by the National Payroll Institute
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) OR
- Minimum 3 years of Canadian payroll experience
- Demonstrated experience with CRA remittances and year-end filings
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following payroll systems:
- ADP Canada
- QuickBooks Payroll
- Wagepoint
- ADP Canada
- Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations lookups reporting)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with cloud-based HRIS/payroll platforms (e.g. Workday BambooHR)
- Familiarity with payroll automation tools and integrations (APIs Zapier)
- Ability to build payroll reports and dashboards (Power BI Tableau)
- Knowledge of data privacy security and compliance best practices
- 100% accurate and on-time payroll processing
- Full compliance with Canada Revenue Agency regulations
- Zero penalties or late remittances
- Timely accurate year-end reporting
- Improved payroll efficiency through automation
Required Skills:
