P&C Insurance Functional Test Analyst Functional Testing SQL & Insurance Applications

Role Description

Analyze business and functional requirements specific to P&C insurance products including:
Personal Auto
Commercial Auto
Personal Property
Commercial Property
Design and execute manual test cases for applications by coordinating with SMEs and developers
Perform functional regression integration backend and UAT testing
Conduct API and backend testing using SQL to validate data integrity and system integrations
Collaborate with business analysts developers and product owners to ensure test coverage and quality
Identify and document defects using tools such as JIRA and work with development teams for resolution
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
Validate data across different databases and systems using SQL queries

Key Responsibilities

Strong SQL knowledge for querying and validating data across databases and systems
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases including:
Oracle
SQL Server
PostgreSQL
Solid understanding of P&C insurance concepts including:
Policy Administration
Claims Processing
Underwriting
Perform test case design execution and defect management
Ensure quality standards through effective testing processes and documentation

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in ETL testing for Data Warehouse and Data Mart applications
Strong domain knowledge of P&C insurance including:
Underwriting
Rating
Billing
Claims
Experience with functional testing regression testing integration testing and UAT
Proficiency in SQL for data validation and backend testing
Experience with test case design execution and defect management
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced insurance environment
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying issues and improvements
