Payroll Supervisor

- Lead the end-to-end processing of two bi-weekly payroll cycles.
- Review and approve payroll transactions to ensure accuracy compliance and service excellence.
- Oversee EFT file transmission and related payroll funding activities.
- Monitor and implement payroll changes resulting from legislative updates regulatory requirements and company policy changes.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and support payroll accounting accuracy.
- Oversee CRA source deduction reconciliations and annual T4 balancing and reporting.
- Review and approve payroll journal entries and third-party remittances.
- Provide guidance and support to Payroll Administrators on complex payroll matters.
- Recruit train mentor and develop payroll team members.
- Collaborate with HR Finance Benefits Operations and IT on payroll projects and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll controls efficiency accuracy reporting and employee experience.
- Support management with payroll reporting forecasting and budget-related activities.
- Strong leadership coaching and team development capabilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

- Analytical thinking with the ability to identify payroll trends risks and improvement opportunities.

- Progressive Canadian payroll experience including payroll leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience working in large complex high-volume payroll environments.
- Experience supporting payroll operations across multiple locations is preferred.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Workday PeopleSoft Kronos ADP Ceridian Dayforce or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation payroll accounting taxation compliance benefits pensions and year-end processing.
- PCP designation required.
- CPM designation considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency with payroll reporting reconciliation auditing and issue resolution.
