Our Human Resource department currently has opportunities for a:
Payroll Supervisor
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the processing of accurate and timely payroll for all London Drugs and its subsidiary companies. This role is responsible for maintaining payroll systems to be compliant with regulatory or legislative changes along with any new initiatives by the business. This role has overlap with many different business units from HR to finance to IT and is seen as a key strategic partner in helping support the growth of the company.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Completion of 2 bi-weekly payroll cycles and transmission of EFT files.
Make changes to the payroll systems as required by Legislation or personnel policies.
Balance payroll figures on a monthly basis to the G.L. accounts.
Reconcile CRA source deductions and balance T4s submitted.
Assist Payroll Admin with day to day processing.
Review and post all finance journal entries.
Participate in the mid year and annual audit with finance.
Check payroll information for accuracy.
Approve all 3rd party remittances.
Assist Management with budgetary concerns.
Hire and train all new payroll Administrators.
The ideal candidate should have:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively over the telephone.
Respect for confidentiality on all matters.
Adapts easily to change.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Sound judgment and ability to effectively problem solve as required.
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Highly organized and able to multi task effectively and work under changing priorities.
Education and Knowledge:
Computerized payroll experience preferably with Workday.
Experience or involvement with HRIS system transition an asset.
Strong understanding of accounting practices and principles.
PCP/PLP designations.
Availability Requirement This is a Full-time position Monday to Friday must be able to work overtime and weekends as required from time to time.
