Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Patient Services the Patient Services Manager for the Radiation Therapy Department provides operational leadership in advancing clinical quality patient safety workflow optimization and technical innovation within the Radiation Therapy Program. The incumbent oversees and manages multidisciplinary teams composed of direct and indirect patientcare staff and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe effective efficient and patient-centered cancer services. This role supports the evaluation implementation and continuous improvement of emerging technologies evidence-based practices and integrated care modelsaligned with organizational and provincial priorities.

The Patient Services Manager (RT) inspires and guides staff in the delivery of person-centered carewhile fostering a culture of clinical excellence continuous quality improvement collaboration andinnovation. Accountable for patient-centric operational management in a financially responsiblemanner the role works closely with leadership internal teams and external partners to supportaccess to high-quality cancer care services. Responsibilities also include monitoring and evaluatingkey performance indicators supporting quality and safety initiatives and ensuring appropriatepatient care through the clinical quality framework and evidence-informed practice.

This position requires a balance of clinical expertise leadership quality improvement experienceand advanced technology knowledge to support the ongoing evolution and modernization ofradiation therapy services at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB).

Qualifications:

Education

• Post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline healthcare leadership education healthcare administration or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
• Preferred Masters degree in Healthcare Administration Leadership Quality Improvement Education or a related field.
• Certification or formal training in:
• Lean/Six Sigma
• Change Management
• Project Management
• Patient Safety or Quality Improvement methodologies

Experience

• 5 years of progressive management experience leading a broad spectrum of patient services in a publicly funded health services delivery organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 5 years of progressive Radiation Therapy clinical experience.
• 3 years of leadership project management advanced practice or supervisory experience.
• 2 years experience leading clinical operations within a unionized healthcare environment is considered an asset.
• 2 years experience in program planning development implementation and evaluation within a publicly funded healthcare environment.
• Experience in program planning development implementation and evaluation within a publicly funded healthcare environment.

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated organizational interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing projects involving multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to accuracy attention to detail and strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Visio).

  • Radiation therapy quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Radiation safety and incident learning systems
  • Policy and procedure development and implementation

Required Licenses Registrations Designations

• Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology (CAMRT) registration required

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Ability to work safely in a computerized office environment with frequent meetings and occasional lifting or carrying of items.
• Ability to manage frequent interruptions while maintaining focused planning and organizational responsibilities.
• Valid Manitoba drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for provincial travel.
