Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager Food & Beverage this position leads by example and provides exemplary service to casino guests in a fast paced environment. This position is a dual role working primarily as a Server with the responsibility for light supervisory duties in the absence of a manager or supervisor (typically for only part of a shift - e.g. the last 2 hours of a shift). Must be collaborative excel at multi-tasking and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcomingwork environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides full table service following established standards of service
  • Cleans buses and sets tables
  • Performs other cleaning duties as required including Server-side duties
  • First point of contact for customer escalations including assessing situations for voiding or comping a meal
  • Responds to basic team member questions/issues
  • Responsible to check the phone for sick calls may be required to call in replacements
  • Responsible for assigning sections to servers bartenders and hosts (if applicable)
  • Responsible for basic shift training and orientation for new team members from time to time
  • Responsible for organizing EOs (early outs) if necessary
  • Responsible for ensuring basic opening or closing duties/checklist is completed following up with co-workers if necessary
  • Works as a member of the team and provides support to co-workers on shift to ensure an overall exceptional guest experience for all casino guests
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven leadership skills and qualities
  • Must exhibit strong sales and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • WHMIS training an asset
  • Works quickly and efficiently under pressure in a busy fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to commit to offering our guests the highest level of guest service
  • Works well both independently as well as in a team environment
  • Cash handling experience required
  • Point of sales experience required; Micros knowledge is an asset
  • Must be able to easily communicate with our guests about Responsible Beverage Service and recognize the signs of possible intoxication
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular food and beverage environment; standing and walking for long periods of time; exposure to heat cold steam noise odors; lifting carrying pushing pulling stretching bending; some exposure to fumes smoke chemicals; risk of minor cuts and burns may have non-traditional work hours schedule flexibility is required.
