Job Summary

Description

The Part-Time Building Maintenance Technician working under the direction of the Property Manager provides scheduled and on-call support to the full-time Property Maintenance Lead at a residential property located in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. This role helps ensure the smooth day-to-day operation upkeep and safety of the building while supporting a positive living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls during coverage periods

Perform minor repairs and coordinate maintenance work (plumbing electrical HVAC general upkeep)

Conduct basic inspections of building systems common areas and vacant units as required

Coordinate and oversee contractors and external service providers when required

Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of common areas including snow removal and exterior maintenance as required

Communicate professionally with tenants and respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner

Maintain basic records of completed work and provide updates to the Property Manager

Identify and report safety hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards

Perform other related duties as assigned



Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

Basic working knowledge of plumbing electrical HVAC and general maintenance repairs

Previous building or property maintenance experience considered an asset

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent or emergency situations

Good organizational and problem-solving skills

Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Knowledge of health and safety practices

Reliable and flexible with scheduling and on-call availability
