Job Summary
Position Summary - Methods Engineering TechnologistBe accountable for developing maintaining and optimizing manufacturing planning documentation to ensure aircraft assembly sub-assemblies and part components are manufactured in accordance with the type design airworthiness requirements and company Quality Management System (QMS). This role owns the translation of engineering design into executable manufacturing plans and instructions. Research and propose engineering changes. Cross-functionally support Production Quality Procurement Supply Chain and other internal groups with solving relevant technical : Permanent Full-timeVacancies: 25Shift Schedule:Must be flexible to accommodate varying work schedules including afternoon night and weekend shifts as Responsibilities: Create and revise Work Instructions (WI) to define parts processes sequence and special instructions required to purchase or build a part/assembly. Create Assembly Manuals or Workbooks to define assembly requirements and special instructions for structural installations mechanical or avionics systems integration on the aircraft. Define tooling fixtures jigs and special equipment required for manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components. Create and revise visual aids to fully define the build sequence of the aircraft assembly and sub-assemblies. Record and submit Engineering Change Requests for changes to build design and tools required to improve efficiency and quality of builds. Investigate root cause of manufacturing snags and liaise with other functions to analyze potential solutions impacts and risks of a change in production. Assist in execution of Non-Conformance Report task management and dispositions Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including internal/external audits Assist in developing and rolling out technical skills training for manufacturing and assembly personnel to support the QMS. Assist training of Production QC and Methods Engineering and co-op personnelEducation:Degree or diploma in Mechanical Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology; or Equivalent combination of formal education and progressive experience in aerospace and/or manufacturing will be considered (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Structures Technician Assembler etc.).Experience:3 years of progressive hands-on experience in a large component manufacturing environment preferably in the aerospace industryPrevious experience in Manufacturing Methods Engineering Planning or Quality of the fabrication and assembly of aircraft parts as well as aerospace engineering and manufacturing principles and :Intermediate knowledge in engineering drawing interpretationAbility to apply sound engineering principles to operational and process design with one or more Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) softwareAbility to deploy manage and influence multiple projects tasks and priorities at one time.
