RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
Under the general supervision of the Pre-Awards Office Manager the employees main goal is to assist RI-MUHC researchers with securing research funding. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing drafted grant proposals which includes but is not limited to preparing reviewing editing managing and submitting grant proposals according to established methods.
In addition the incumbent supports the Pre-Awards Office team through other related activities such as assisting with hosting institutional information events and meetings as well as attending local scientific meetings to liaise with RI-MUHC research community.
General Duties
Draft and/or edit components of scientific grant proposals for funding opportunities from local national and international agencies.
Identify national and international funding opportunities and promote them to the Research Institutes researchers.
Liaise with funding sources and partners on behalf of Institutes researchers before and if needed throughout a projects lifespan.
Create lay audience-friendly summaries
Interpret and understand grant application guidelines and requirements.
Create content for the Pre-Awards Office to be used on the RI-MUHC portal
Support the development of research proposals (e.g. coordinating meetings tracking project progress drafting project GANTT charts)
Support and promote hospital-based researchers in their teams research effort development and research outcomes.
Assist in hosting meetings to enhance funding and visibility of the research community and their students of the institute
Assist with organizing and coordinating town hall meetings for new initiatives such as Hacking Health events which bring web developers clinicians scientists together
Maintain knowledge of latest health economic developments relevant to the research community of the institute.

Additional information
Status : Full-Time
Pay Scale: $57093.40- $105996.80. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. available after regular business hours if required
Work Site: Hybrid work model primary office is located at 2155 Guy Street.
