As a Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering Technology Student you will join the Nuclear Engineering team and contribute to innovative projects that support the development and delivery of world-class nuclear technologies. This co-op opportunity provides hands-on experience exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments and the chance to apply mechanical engineering and engineering technology principles in real-world project settings.

Your Role

• Support Engineers Designers Discipline Leads and Engineering Managers in day-to-day engineering and project activities.

• Assist in the development and assembly of engineering deliverables for nuclear and conventional mechanical systems.

• Support mechanical design activities equipment assessments technical documentation and engineering evaluations as assigned.

• Contribute to project execution in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Document Control Project Management Procurement and field teams on assigned task scopes.

• Collaborate with members of the nuclear team to support workflow document reviews and Request for Information (RFI) activities.

• Assist with reviewing engineering drawings technical specifications calculations and project documentation.

• Attend technical and project coordination meetings to support project delivery.

• Promote a positive team environment while contributing to engineering and project management activities.

About You

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology program at an accredited Canadian university college or polytechnic institution.

• Ability to apply mechanical engineering or engineering technology fundamentals to develop practical solutions.

• Understanding of mechanical systems engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Familiarity with engineering analysis design or drafting tools such as MATLAB MathCAD AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor Revit or similar software is considered an asset.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
