Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience related to the design of HVAC and related mechanical building systems to join our growing Water Sector team.Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Accountabilities
Perform and review heating cooling and ventilation load calculations(HAP TAS Excel etc.).
Prepare Mechanical and Plumbing schematic design layout and final design.
Create andmaintainmechanical equipment schedule andmotorlist.
Review and prepare mechanical specifications.
Prepare or confirm all mechanical equipment selections using the firms selection procedures.
Review shop drawings Requests for Information (RFIs) and other construction changes.
Coordinate mechanical requirements with other disciplines involved in the project design team.
Direct and supervise Junior and Intermediate Designers within your team to ensure the delivery of quality projects.
Coordinate or confirm service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies.
Assistwith fee proposal preparation.
Maintain good client relations.
Knowledge
Able to read Architectural Structural Mechanical and Electrical drawings with minimal supervision.
Able to apply prescriptive requirements of plumbing building and sprinkler codes.
Experience with schematic design equipmentselection and 2D AutoCAD and3D Revit.
Basic understanding of global sustainability issues and current best practices in sustainable building design.
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as Passive House Zero Carbon Building LEED.
Experience performingaccurateand detailed site surveys.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond systematically to critical situations.
Qualifications and Experience
8 years design experience in HVAC Plumbing and Fire Protection systemswith a specific focus on industrial/wastewater treatment facilities.
University degree college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (.)with PEO is.

Additional Information
